LAWN TENNIS
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the management committee of the Wellington Provincial Lawn Tennis Association was held last night. There were present Messrs. H. C. Burns (chairman). .1. W. Kelly, W. G. Harbison, G. M. Burn, 11. R. Baigent, W. B. Watson (lion, secretary). It was reported that the Newtown fourth grade team had withdrawn from the inter-club competition. Trentham Defence Club team were granted permission to affiliate with Hutt Valley sub-association. The Easter tournament entry forms were stated to be now available, and it was decided, to issue season tickets at 2s. 6d. It was decided that all the trophies for the Easter tournament will be present on the final day of the tournament. Appreciation was expressed at the putting into effect by the N.Z.L.T.A. of Miss Nunneley’s wish that the “Niinneley Challenge Casket” for competition among ladies’ provincial teams on the Wilding Shield basis be presented to the Wellington Association as the first holder. An amendment was made to the standing ladder rules, and it was decided to close the ladder season on March 31.
