Another monster shark was hauled, in by a number of Napier canoeists, who had a set-line out from the beach, .recently (savs the “Telegraph ). Prior to its capture the monster had been swimming around the line and stealing the bait, but it finally became entangled, being hooked in the flank and tail. Then ensued a hard struggle, the shark, which measured Bft. 9in. from head to tail, putting up a stern fight until finally one of the fishers, fearing for the safety of the line, dispatched him speedily, with the aid of a rifle.
