FIGHTING CANCER
PUBLIC MEETING TO BE CALLED For the purpose of furthering arrangements for the formation of a New Zealand branch of the British Empire dancer campaign n meeting was held in the Mayor’s room at the Town Hall on Saturday, at which Mt. G. A. Troup (Mayor) presided. Others present were the Minister of Health (Hon. A. J. Sttillwbi'tliy), Dr. J. S. Elliott (president of the New Zealand branch of the 8.M.A.), Dr. M. H. Watt (Health Department), Dr. W. Young, Mr, C. M. Luke (chairman of the Wellington Hospital Board), and Mr A. K. fe. Mackenzie. It was decided to call a public meeting in the Concert Chamber next Friday, when Mr. Sampson Handley, the eminent English stirgeon and authority oh cancer tfeatmeht, and who is a member ef the executive of the association in England, explain the aims of the association and what may be achieved by such an organisation.
