This thrilling action takes place m the unfoldment of the dramatic,'story which was written especially for Barthelmss, and which is said to be one of the best sea-thrillers yet seen in Wellington. “Scarlet Seas” is a remarkable, and gripping tale of the open sea, teeming with the vivid color of the South Seas, trading in smuggled goods, rough-and-tumble fights, and an unusual Barthelmess characterisation. It was directed by John Francis Dillon, who made such a mark for himself with “The Noose.”' Betty Compson plays the feminine lead with Loretta Young, featured ingenue.
