Leaving Auckland in June last for the Honolulu Conference as the delegate of the New Zealand League of Nations Union and the Auckland Play and Recreation Association, Dr. Staley’s inquiries were directed particularly to a study of the prevention of juvenile crime, for which purpose she attended the Juvenile and other courts of justice in such cities as Toronto and Ottawa, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco (says tie “Herald”). In Honolulu, Canada, and the United States she worked inclose co-operation with the various Irternational Relations Societies. “I lound an immense interest on the subject of international peace,” she said. “1 was present at the annual conference of the International Relations Association of California the evening tie Kellogg Peace Pact was ratified and the enthusiasm displayed was tremendous and inspiring, the delegates numbering 300 or 400, standing and returning thanks to God.” Dr. Staley was also impressed with the all-Canadian Week for International Peace, when a great elucational campaign was organised for the study of international relations and a discussion on how best to work for world peace.
