MAINTENANCE CASES Maintenance cases were heard before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. For being £8 11s. in arrears with regard to his wife’s maintenance, Alexander Marshall Paterson was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment, warrant to be suspended on payment of 17s. 6d. a week maintenance and arrears. George Louis Bertram, for Vieing £1 10s. behind in payments with respect to his two children, was sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment, to be released on payment of the arrears. Robert Brockie, for being £l3 10s. in arrears in the maintenance of his three children, and £l2 in arrears for the maintenance of his wife, was sentenced to a month’s imprisonment on each charge, warrant to be suspended so long as he pays 335. a week and 325. a week respectively. Duncan Martin Cameron, who was £8 17s. 6d. in arrears with his wife’s maintenance and £2l 13s. 6d. behind in that of his three children, was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment on the first charge, the warrant to be suspended on paynjent of 12s. weekly. On the second he was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment, warrant to be suspended as long as he pays off 255. 6d. a week. James Patrick Paterson, who was £2l 10s. in arrears on an order made with respect to his three children, was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment. The warrant will be suspended as long as he pays off £2 10s. weekly. Bertrand Kenneth Gaven, for being £2O behind in his wife’s maintenance, and having the same amount in arrears on an order with respect to his child, was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment on each charge, warrants to be suspended provided he nays 255. a week on tne former and 1557 a week on the latter.
