MINISTER REPORTING TO
CABINET.

Hamilton, February 25.
The Minister of Public Works (the Hon. E. A. Ransom) visited Arapuni yesterday. In company with Mr. F. tV. Furkert, chief engineer, he inspected the dam. other hydro-electric works, and surrounding earth formations. Tha Minister used a pick to test the sides of the ravine of the original watercourse.' ■ He refused to express an opinion regarding the dam’s safety, but indicated that he would report to Cabinet within & fortauht.
