The Feilding ewe fair to-day proved to be one of the most successful yet held, almost a total clearance being made of a large yarding of approximately 27,000 ewes. High values were paid for young sheep, up to 05s. Od. being obtained by J. D. Hocking, of Kiwitea, for a pen of two-tooths, and practically every other offering in this section-sold freely. Association's annual ram fair concluded at the Solway Showgrounds to-day, when Southdowns, Corriedales, and Lincolns were offered by the Associated Auctioneers to a large attendance of buyers. The sale was easily the best of recent years as tar as stud and flock Lincolns were concerned, top price of £llO being paid by R. Donald for a ram bred by L. R. Wilton. It was a satisfactory sale for Southdi wns, the highest price ‘for a stud ram being 122 guineas, paid by Gaulter and Wilson (Palmerston North)' as agents, for an animal bred bv W. 11. Gimblett. Ltd, at a special general meeting held in New Plymouth on Wednesday, authorised the directors to issue from the existing unissued capital a further 2600 shares of £1 at a premium of £l. The new issue is to be offered to the shareholders on the basis of two new shares for every 13 held.
