R, de WORKER WINS McKENZIE BAT FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY The executive committee of the Wellington Cricket Association met last night, Mr. P. B. Broad presiding. A letter was received from tne Auckland Association stating that they would be pleased to play a special match against Wellington at Wellington during Raster if suitable arrangements could be made. They had arranged to send a strong team to Hamilton during Easter, but if they could arrange with the Waikato Association to agree to a' weaker team visiting them, they would send a team to Wellington. It was decided to hold over Air. MeGirr's request to take a team at Easter to play matches against Marton, Hunterville, and Taihape, until it was definitely known whether or not a team was coming from Auckland. ' The sub-committee’s recommendation that in the senior championship a draw of two further rounds be made, the team leading at the end of tlie second round to take the championship, or in the event of two teams having an equal number of points, then those two teams to play off in a final match, was adopted. WELLINGTON TRAMWAYS BEAT CHRISTCHURCH The annual match for the Lambton Cup was played at Lancaster Park on February w and 15 between the Wellington and Christchurch tramwaymen. After a close and exciting finish, Wellington succeeded in wresting the trophy from Christchurch, who have held it since.
