MUNICIPAL COMMERCIAL LIBRARY
At the meeting this week of. the council of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Norrie, chief librarian, was in attendance, and addressed members upon the establishing of a commercial library in the Central Public Library.' Mr. Norrie explained that many of the large centres in Great Britain had set up these libraries, and . reports stated that the innovation had met with every success. In making the municipal library of greater service to the commercial section of the city it was his earnest desire to avoid any overlapping, or duplication of effort with other libraries 'that may have been set up by trade organisations in the city, but there were undoubted advantages in centralising books of this description embracing subjects of commercial and industrial interest. The council of the chamber generally approved of the idea,'and a , committee will report in due course regarding the co-operation that could, offer from the Chamber of Commerce. '.
