The fact that a man in his time plays many parts was impressed upon members of the Auckland Hospital Board who visited the cottage hospital at Warkworth the other day (says the "Star”). A defective vent pipe at the institution had been giving a lot of trouble, and the resident medical officer regarded it as a danger. As the services of a plumber were not: available he took the job on himself. The pipe had been neatly bandaged in the best professional style, and the trou ble had been remedied. “We soon gel in the habit of doing things for our selves in the country." said the medical officer when the board members complimented hinj on his resourcefulness.
