TIMBER STRIKE
LEVY ON WORKERS MINERS EXEMPTED Sydney, February 8. As the result of the timber strike the Labour Council Executive decided'to impose a levy of a shilling a week on adult males and sixpence a week on females on all members who are working. A significant feature is the special exemption from the levy given to the Miners’ Federation in view of the condition existing in the coal Industry. NON-UNION LABOUR AT 'ADELAIDE Adelaide, February 8. The indications are that all mills at Port Adelaide- will be in full swing by Monday. The owners have engaged non-uiiion labour 'to augment the skeleton staffs which have been carryiron.
