Fifteen dogs for the Byrd Antarctic Expedition arrived in Port Chalmers on Wednesday (says the Dunedin “Star”). They were brought from Vancouver by the Niagara, and were transhipped to Lyttelton by the Katoa. The dogs were then brought south by the express goods train from Christchurch, and were taken to Quarantine Island to await the return of the Eleanor Bolling from the Bay of Whales.
