SEAMEN’S UNION
OBJECTION TO RULES (Rec. January 13, 5.5 p.m.) Melbourne, January 13. The Commonwealth Steamship Owners’ Association is objecting to the registration of the Australian Seamen’s Union unless the latter’s rules are altered. The owners contend that the union’s definition of industry is too: wide, and may complicate business by involving the association in disputes extending to other countries. The rules were lodged in November. Now another organisation, the Seamen’s Union of Australasia, has applied for registration. The owners may lodge objection to that also.
