CALEDONIAN SPORTS GATHERING DANCING AND PIPING EVENTS SOME KEEN CONTESTS Tlie annual athletic sports gathering, which includes Highland danfdng and piping competitions, held under the auspices of the Wellington Caledonian Society, took place on the Basin Reserve on Saturday A somewhat late start was made, some of the piping events being put off until the afternoon, as several performers who were free on Boxing Day could not get away from work on Saturday morning.
