COOK STRAIT SWIM
Sir, —We have been informed on more than one occasion that Miss Lily Coppie-. stone is to attempt to swim Cook Strait on January 19, starting from Cape Roamani (at the head of Queen Charlotte Sound, but so far the public has not been informed of her intended landing place. Probably Titahi Bay would be the nearest point to make a landing, and Paekakariki if the northern set is very strong.—l am, etc.', wHp
Wellington, January 11. [Although no definite landing place has been mentioned it is stated by those interested in the swim locally that it.is believed to be Miss .Coppiestone’s intention to attempt to make the North Island somewhere in. the vicinity of Porirua.J
