England are all out for 305, Geary being bowled by Busbridge without addition to the score.. Busbridge took three wickets for 36, and Moore three for 44. Bendigo made 168 (Thomas, 63 not out, Porter 42, Martin 25). No other plaver reached double figures. Larwood took six wickets for 20 runs, Hammond three for 40, Geary two for 28, and Jardine one for 22. Thomas went in first wicket down and played an excellent hand.
England in the second innings lost eight wickets for 173.
