TALLOW SALES NOT HELD.

MANAWATU STUD SHEEP SALE The .'attention of breeders and those interested is called to the Manawatu and West Coast stud sheep sale, to be held on Feilding showgrounds on January 15' and 16, when a tine opportunity will be presented to secure high-class pedigree stud Romney and Southdown rams and ewes from the best flock in the Dominion. Excellent entries have been received and breeders desirous of building up their flocks cannot do better than to procure their requirements for the coming season from this sale. Catalogues and all particulars supplied on application to E. H. Fisher, Box 98, Feilding. LIVE STOCK SALES LEVIN. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Ltd. report that at Levin yards on Tuesday they offered a small yarding of cattle and a medium yarding of pigs. Competition was brisk and a total clearance made at the following prices:— Cows close to profit, £11) to £l2 55.; cows in milk, £ll 10s. to £l2 10s.: heifers close to profit, £11,28. 6(1. to £l2 55.; bull, £6; weaner, heifers,. £3 55.; in calf heifers, £8;. good porkers,: £2 ss; to £2 Ms. Gd.; light porkers, 335. Gd. to'£2; stores, 20s. to 255. Gd.; weaners, Ils. to 12s. Gd. WANGANUI. Messrs. Freeman It. Jackson and Co..report that, taking into consideration the fact that Wednesday’s sale was the first of tlie year, tho entries', in- all sectionswere very fair. The- entry in the sheep section consisted mostly of wethers',' for which there was a particularly keen demand. In the cattle section several very good lines of bullocks were penned, and although they were passed at auction, private sales were eventually effected. Vendors at the sale expressed themselves well satisfied with tlie prices realised. The attendance was large and the demands for all classes ot stock very satisfactory.
