PLIMMERTON SPORTS CLOSE COMPETITION Twice postponed, the Plimmerton sports meeting was held on Monday. Although the weather was misty at times there was a fair attendance, and the concluding events were run in sunshine. The best effort of the day was that of Jenkins, who registered 10 2-ssee. for the 100yds. Several close finishes were seen, and tor the aggregate points cup J. Barton and C. Campbell fought out a keen contest, the former being successful. A noteworthy feature of the gathering was the imposing array of trophies. PARAPARAUMU MEETING Though the weather in Wellington yesterday morning was unfavourable for outdoor sport of any kind, a large contingent of athletes from the city entrained for I’araparaumu. The weather on the other side of the ranges was bad early in the day. but later cleared, and gave way to sunshine. The track was heavy, but keen struggles for the points prizes ended with Pickering and Gardiner tieing for the senior trophy, and Ritson and Glover finishing equal for the junior award.
