The Nanking Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that twelve treaties between China and foreign Powers have been signed since July, namely, with America, Belgium, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Italy, Holland, France, Britain, Portugal, Sweden, and Spain. The resignation, is reported of Mr. Edwardes, British Inspector-General of Chinese Maritime Customs, against whom an agitation recently was rife in certain Nationalist circles in consequence of Mr. Edwardes’s firm stand against improper interference with the national revenue of which he is custodian. The resignation was handed this morning to Soong, Minister of Finance in the Nationalist Government.
