YOUNG MAN’S LAPSE
“HAD EVERY ADVANTAGE” By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch. December 20. In the Magistrate’s Court, Harold Francis Reed, 19 years of age, came up for sentence on a charge of stealing sums of money amounting to £5 from his late employers, Kincaids Ltd. He was admitted to probation for two years. The Magistrate, Mr. Mosley, said that the only thing that weighed with the Court was the poor position of the mother and family. There was nothing to be said for the accused. Addressing Reed, Mr. Mosley said:— “You deliberately set out on a course of crime. You defrauded two employers. You are matriculated and had every advantage. lam not going to suppress vour name. When next you are employed your employer will know that J'OU defrauded two other employers.”
