BRILLIANT GALLOP BY AUSSIE Dominion Special Service. Auckland, December 20. Very heavy overnight rain made the tracks dead this morning, and trainers were evidently disinclined to stretch their charges right out. Dobbin experienced little difficulty in beating Patearoa over half a mile on the grass in 53sec. Clarinda and Hymestrason did steady pace work. Moutoa Fume, Callanmore, Statuary, Vexatious, Killogie, Skyrider, and others did useful tasks. Miss Maher, the successful trainer, met with a nasty accident yesterday when pursuing a horse round a paddock. The saddle on the horse which she was riding slipped round. Miss Maher was thrown heavily, breaking several ribs.
