Mr. Edgar Wallace had to turn his knowledge of crime and criminology to the service of British Justice recently, when, for the first time in bls career, he was called upon to sit as a member of a Grand Jury. He was chosen as foreman, and after a case in which the "twelve good men and true" found the prisoner guilty, and he was given “time,” the novelist was chatting with some lawyer friends when a woman approached, as women will, and after an inquiry as to his identity she said: “Oh, and you sent my husband to stir (prison)” I am sorry, replied Mr. 'Wallace, but she said, “Oh that will be all right if you give me your autograph so that I can give it to him when he comes out.
