STOLE A CABBAGE

“INCORRIGIBLE THIEF.”

Samuel McShane appeared before Mr. E. Page, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, charged with stealing a cabbage, valued at 4d„ the property of On Lee. Accused was represented by Mr. R. W. Bothamley and pleaded not guilty. Sub-Inspector Lander said that accused had eleven previous convictions for theft, and that he always took articles that were portable.

The Magistrate remarked that he noticed that McShane always took something that would be useful to him. He seemed to be an incorrigible thief. A sentence of twenty-one days’ imprisonment was imposed.
