Meteorological Office, Wellington,. December 17, 4 p.m. An antl-cyclone is covering New Zealand. A depression is moving off eastern Australia on to the western Tasman Sea. Moderate and variable, but northerlies prevailing from Cook Strait southwards and freshening in southern parts Seas generally smooth to moderate In New Zealand waters. Variable winds in the north-east Tasman Sea and moderate to fresh northerlies in the south-east Tasman Sea, but northerlies soon becoming general with moderate seas. Further fair to fine weather generally, but some scattered showers later in Westland and parts of the southern district. IV arm temperatures.
