FROM SAN FRANCISCO
ARRIVAL OF MAKURA. After a line weather and enjoyable passage, the Union liner Makura arrived early yesterday morning from San Francisco via Papeete (Tahiti) and Rarotonga. The ship brought 213 passengers of whom 127 landed at Wellington, the others being booked to Sydney. The Makura is discharging 1617 tons of cargo at Wellington, including 8412 cases of fruit and 110 sacks of coconuts from Rarotonga. The cargo from San Francisco includes a large quantity of fresh and dried fruits, 1365 packages of prepared roofing, and 2695 sacks of plaster. The steamer will sail this afternoon for Sydney.
