GLAD. WRAPPINGS

No matter how simple a gift may be, see that the wrappings are suggestive of the Christmas spirit.

Colourful paper, together with hollyprinted tape, will go far towards bringing about the desired result. When filling the kiddies’ stockings, be sure to wrap the small parcels in papers of different hues. This will add delight to the eye of even the smallest member of the family, for children love colour.

Should grannie be keen on knitting, give her a parcel of wool, complete in a knitting bag of gay cretonne, to which has been tied a Christmas label. Maybe a book would be a more acceptable gift, in which case include with it a pretty “marker” of a festive type, then wrap your present in holly-print-ed paper, tie it with red tape, and you may be sure she will be delighted by your thoughtfulness on Christmas morn.

If you cannot afford to spend much on your presents, let them just be silly little trifles that will bring a smile when the recipient opens the wrappings. Useful gifts are not always the most appreciated ones, remember. Gifts that convey a kind thought are likely to make more impression. A tiny bunch of flowers for the lapel of a coat, if packed in a dainty little colourful box, will find favour with most girls, while a miniature pillow filled with lavender will delight mother, especially if it is wrapped in silver foil and tied with helio ribbon. It’s the wrappings that count, so make yours “glad” this Christmas and ensure for your friends a certain amount of pleasure by bestowing' a festive and colourful touch to one and all the gifts that you send forth this Christmas-tide.
