The Things We Never Got.
The things we wanted and never got Are the realcst things of all. The things tee wanted and never got! The rocking-horse, and the doll That shut her eyes when yon laid her down. And the little blue, parasol! f The things we wanted and never got—ll'c’re all of us had our share.' The things tec wanted, and never got Are ’waiting for us somewhere; Al dhe lop of some hill, at some turn of the road. And, at last, we’ll find them there. The things tee wanted and never got; The feel of a helping hand, The talent, the skill, the iron will, The friend who would understand—■ B’e never quite found these things, but all That we asked in our childhood's prayer, All that we’ve sought—joy, friends and that doll— Arc waiting for us somewhere. —Mary Carolyn Davies,
