GIFTS ANY GIRL CAN MAKE.

A set of curtain tie-backs in felt would be Just the thing for mother, Aunt Mary or any girl friend who loves pretty things for her room. Use two strips of green felt 20 x 2| inches for the foundation. The three flowers are made of two circles of two different colour of felt cut into petals, the smaller one placed on top of the larger one, and a tiny round center of the Same colour as the larger one is sewed On carefully for a centre. Cut six leaves of green felt and sow three under each of the two outer flowers. Ivory rings are then sewed to each dnd. Make the flowers to match the Colour scheme of the room in which they are to be used,

Little sister will adore a bag for her party hanky and Sunday School pennies. Cut two pieces of white felt 5 I 4J inches, and a small top piece of turquoise felt cut in block form. A lavender felt flower and buds with frreen stem and leaves are appliqued to the blue felt Buttonhole the bag together with lavender wool. The handle is nine inches long and threequarters of an inch wide, with ends fringed.

A gay felt flower for her coat will delight big sister. Choose a colour that will harmonize with her costume, and cut from it four oval-shaped pieces, of different sizes. Slit these Into petals. Place the largest piece on the bottom, and so on until the smallest is on top. Punch two holes close together through the centre of the four pieces and through them slip two pieces of fine wire doubled into loops. Place some flower stamens within the loops formed by the wire and twist the ends of the wire together tightly on the underneath part of the flower to hold everything in place. Made of crimson felt, the flower will be particularly appropriate for Christmas.
