Forthcoming Productions
A large range of new-season productions of every type will be released by the British Film Service, Ltd., early in the new year. The lists contain the names of actors and actresses new in stellar roles, who, through consistently good work in less important productions, have prove I their ability for work of a better nature. There are also old favourites, among them Marie Prevost, Phyllis Haver, and Alberta Vaughan.
“The Shady City,” now in course of production at the Pathe studios, Culver City, in which the beautiful Phyllis Haver is starred, is one of the greatest of coming attractions. William K. Howard was the director of “A Ship Comes In,” which will make an early appearance. The stars need no introduction. Rudolph Schildkraut and Louise Dresser have already achieved fame in emotional roles. Among the comedies are “The Girl in the Pullman,” starring Marie Prevost, and “The Skyscraper,” William Boyd’s first P.D.C. release for 1929. Alberta Vaughan, who successfully appeared as “The Telephone Girl” in the twelve-reel scries under that title, is also in the cast.
