She Is due here on January 24 and will sail from this port on January 29 for Southampton and London via Panama. MAKURA FROM 'FRISCO. En route to Wellington from San Francisco via Papeete and Rarotonga, the Union liner Makura has reported by wireless that she can be expected to arrive in the stream at 6 o’clock tills morning. The vessel will berth at No. 1. south, Queen's Wharf, shortly before 9 o’clock. The Makura is scheduled to leave here again at. 3 p.m. to-morrow for Sydney, where she is due next Saturdav. VANCOUVER MAIL SERVICE. The Niagara from Sydney will arrive at Auckland this morning and will leave again at 2 p.m. to-morrow for Vancouver via Suva and Honolulu. The Aorangi left Vancouver on December 12 for Sydney, via Honolulu, Suva and Auckland. She Is due at Honolulu on December 19, at Suva on December 28, and at Auckland on December 31. SAN FRANCISCO MAIL SERVICE. The Tahiti from Sydney via Wellington. Rarotonga and Papeete is due at San Francisco on Friday next. She leaves on the return voyage on December 26. ISLANDS SERVICES. The Tofua will leave Apia to-day for Suva mid Auckland. She is due at Suva on Friday next and at Auckland on December 27. Tlie Mooraki from Suva via Norfolk Island is due at Sydney to-day. LATE CAPTAIN M. SELLARS. Captain M. Sellars, who died at Lyttelton on December 6, had been in command of the Westport Coal Company's steamer Canopus for many years. He was wellknown ou the New Zealand coast, and hail been trading to Auckland for a number of years. He was born In Scotland and eame to New Zealand before the steamship had gained the ascendancy in the shipping world. About 10 years ago lie Joined the Canopus as chief otileer, and after a tew years’ service in that capacity he was transferred to the company's shore staff. t)u rejoining the Canopus he was appointed master, a position he held until his death. Captain Sellars became ill on the vessel’s last trip to Westport and went to his home. Hie Canopus being piloted to Auckland liy the chief officer. Mr. T. Rowlands. Captain Sellars was highly respected lioth In the NoTtii and South Islands, and his dentil will be regretted in shipping, commercial and private circles. MISCELLANEOUS.
