A sparrow recently built its nest inside a 6000 volt fuse box situated on one of tbe Marlborough Electric Power Board’s poles (says the ‘.‘Express ). io enter the nest it had to clamber over a 6000 volt line and force its way through a very small hole into the box, but the little home was a happy enough one until rain come on and so saturated the nesting material as to cause a shortcircuit. The result was a good deal of (rouble with the Blenheim lighting system, which was on and off three or four times before the source of the trouble was located. The Tower Board’s engineering staff had an unenviable time touring the district in the rain and clambering up and down poles. An excellent collection of moa bones has been unearthed by Mr. F. Sargent, farmer. Caverail Road, Cheviot (says an exchange). Mr. Sargent was digging a drain in a swamp on his property and found enough bones to complete almost two skeletons. The bones are in good order. • “If it's ‘Mngnet’ Design, It’s a sound British Line." —Advt.
