TO-DAY’S WEATHER FORECAST.

Meteorological Office, Wellington, November 26, 4 p.m. The cyclone in the Tasman Sea is now approaching Cook Strait. Anticyclones are situated over eastern Australia and east of New Zealand. Moderate to strong northerly winds north of Cook rising to gale force in places, backing to west and south-west within about 24 hours. Elsewhere moderate winds between east veering southerly and freshening Rough seas on the West Coast; elsewhere smooth to moderate, but rising later south of Castlepoint. Winds becoming south-westerly or southerly generally soou in the Tasman Sea, and strong with rough seas in the eastern Tasman. Warm sultry and unsettled from Nelson and Marlborough northwards, with general rain. Heavy in places with some thunder-scattered raiu also in other districts. Temperatures becoming cold everywhere after about 24 hours.
