A rather curious incident occurred in a cricket match between Granity and Westport Technical School (states the “Westport Times”). Smith, the Buller representative, sent a hard ball in the direction of Curtis, the school six-footer. Curtis failed to take the ball, which struck him on the chest and knocked him over. Before the ball could roll off his chest Curtis seized it and Smith was cr.ught out.
