FOR THE BLIND
SURPRISE- BEQUEST. OF. £2300 By Telegraph.—Press Association. Oamaru, November 23. A pleasant surprise awaited Mr. Clutha Mackenzie, on the occasion of the visit of the Blind Boys’ Band, to Oamaru, to-night, when the Mayor, Mr. Frank Crawshaw, announced a bequest of £-300 to the Jubilee Institute for the Blind. A labouring man. single, known as “Tiger” Hall, of Herbert whose death occurred recently, accumulated zlo,UuU. In his will he left £2OOO each to the Salvation Army, Barnado Homes. Oamaru Hospital, Jubilee Institute for the Blind, Otepopo Church. The bequests, with the interest, now represent two thousand three hundred, and the Mayor s announcement to-night took Mr.. Clutha Mackenzie completely by surprise.
