MIND NOT MADE UP WHETHER TO RETIRE OR CONTINUE FIGHTING INFLUENCE OF WIFE (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Rec. November 22, 7.25 p.m.) New York, November 21. Tom Heeney, in an interview, said he was unable to make up his mind whether to retire or to continue fighting. “My wife wants me to get out while I am sound in body and mind. She does not want me to expose myself to the danger of injury through further fighting. I’ve got a little money, and feel like getting into some business which will bring a satisfactory income.” He said the popular belief about the monetary reward for fighting was distorted. He estimated that he would make probably 40,000 dollars a year from four to five matches. There were no more new men for him to fight. He expressed willingness to meet men like Risko, Sharkey, Paulino, and Dempsey; and said that big men like Tunney, who box, are not his style.
