AIR TRANSPORT
AS ADJUNCT TO BRITISH RAILWAYS (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, November 21. In order to be prepared for future developments in the use : of air transport, the British railway companies have given notice of their intention to apply to Parliament for powers to conduct air services. It is understood that if the necessary powers are granted, the companies will hold them in reserve, but the possibility of using aitservice for the transport of perishable goods by air in cases requiring rapid transit is being considered.
The Bill promoted by the railway companies seeking powers for conducting road- services is at present before Parliament.
