TO-DAY’S WEATHER FORECAST.

Meteorological Office, Wellington, November 22, 4 p.m.

An anti-cyclone is now crossing New Zealand, but is of very slight intensity. The depression over south-east Australia has become more intense and had passed Hobart at 4 p.m. Moderate to strong northerly winds, rising to gale force at exposed nositions from Cook Strait southwards. Generally smooth to moderate seas but Hsing on the West Coast of the South Island and later in ’ Cook Strait. Strong north-west to northerly winds and rather rough to rough seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. Fair to fine generally at first, but becoming unsettled and showery later on the West Coast of the South Island. Unsettled conditions extending to other parts during the week-end. Mild temperatures.
