A NEW COMET
VISIBLE IN THE EARLY MORNING
Dr. C. E. Adams, Dominion Astronomer, stated last night that advice had been received from the International Astronomical, Bureau at Copenhagen of a new comet first seen in South Africa or South America. This comet was discovered on Wednesday at 2 a.m., and is of magnitude six; that is, it is a bright, comet visible to the naked eye. Its right ascension is 12hr. Bmin. 28sec.; declination, 21 degrees 42min. south. Right ascension is increasing 20min. of arc per day, and declination increasing southwards fifty minutes per day. The comet is in the constellation Corvis (“the crow”), about three hours in advance of the sun; and therefore may be seen in the early morning.
