TRANSPORTATION PAGEANT
A GREAT SHOW ON SATURDAY. Wellington will be en fete on Saturday afternoon, when the Carnival in aid of the National Art Gallery and Dominion Museum Fund will be inaugurated by a procession which is being arranged by the Transportation Queen’s committee. This procession will be symbolic of the means of transport employed by man from prehistoric times, right through the oxen-horse-sail-stcnm periods to the times we live in, as typified by electric and petrolimpelled traffic on earth and in the air. How all this is to be adequately represented is being kept a profound secret, but the city is in for a great surprise in several ways. The procession is to bo headed by the Mayor (Mr. G. A. Troup) and members of the City Council, who will be accommodated in decorated cars.
