Frost, Ltd., dentists, to-day successfully defended a suit for £l2l brought by a client, Mrs. Janet Hymburn, on the ground of alleged, negligence in an operation. Frost’s employee, J. C. Kirkland, had cut some loose flesh from a guin preparatory to fitting a new denture and had punctured two small arteries. A surgeon called iu to stop the How of blood inserted a stitch, and the gum adhered to the cheek. The patient had a long period without teeth, then a second < peration for the adhesion. For tho defence Kir’'and stated to-day that he bad advised the immediate insertion of the denture to prevent adhesion. Two prominent Auckland dentists supported defendant's claim that this procedure was correct. The Magistrate (Mr. Wilson) said he found no proof of negligence in the nature of the operation, the manner of performance, or after - treatment. Judgment would be for the defence with costs.
