BANK OF ENGLAND NOTES
THE NEW ISSUE (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, November 3. Tlie Currency and Bank Notes Act, 1928. vesting in the Bank of England the sole right to issue legal tender notes ii Great Britain, is to come into operation on November 22. This is preliminary to the issue of £1 and 10s. notes by the bank to replace £285,000,000 worth of Treasury notes now in circulation, signed by Sir Warren Fisher, as Secretary of the Treasury. The notes have been printed at the Bank of England and it is believed are of such i design as to make forgery virtually impossible.
