BELLIGERENT FIREMAN

DESERTER FROM SHIP SENT TO GAOL. The belligerent character of Hans Hansen, a fireman, aged 26. who was charged with deserting from the Canadian Conquerer, was described by Mr. T. R. Boyes, local agent for the Canadian Government Merchant Marine.' Ltd;, in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Mr. Boyes said that Hansen had given a lot of trouble on the vessel. Accused was sentenced to 21 days’ imprisonment. On a charge of drunkenness he was convicted, and discharged.
