POLITICAL CRISIS IN RUMANIA
BRATIANU RESIGNS (Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) (Rec. November 4, 5.5 p.m.) Bucharest, November 3. The Regency Council has accepted JI. Bratianu’s resignation. JI. Jlaniu is expected to be invited to form a coalition Government. (Australian Press Association.) (Rec. November 4, 11.5 p.m.) London, November 3. Tlie Rumanian crisis is due to tlie Regency Council’s insistence on tlie formation of a National Government in whicli all parties will be represented. Some excitement prevailed, as it was feared that if JI. Bratianu refused to resign the Peasants' Party would try to force the overthrow of his regime. The Peasants’ Party recently demanded free elections, declaring that the Government was in power solely through a dishonest manipulation of the franchise. The Government’s recent announcement that negotiations for a stabilisation load bad concluded caused the Peasants’ loader to declare that the mobilisation of their forces was proceeding, and they intended to lay siege to the Government before December 1.
