SMITH AND ULM IMPRESSED (Australian Press Association.) (Rec. November 4, 5.5 p.m.) Melbourne, November 4. Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smith and Flight-Lieutenant Ulm, interviewed, said they were impressed with the efficiency of tlie New Zealand Air Force. There seemed to be as many machines as men. Ulm repudiated the idea that Kingsford Smith and himself were fond of dangerous flying, and added: “If I were to make a private trip to New Zealand and back I would sooner travel by tlie Southern Cross than by steamer.”
