Meteorological Office, Wellington, November 4, 4 p.m. An anti-cyclone is passing north of New Zealand, while a depression is advancing across the Tasman Sea. Moderate and variable winds at first, but northerlies to westerlies prevailing and freshening, later reaching gale force at exposed places south of New Plymouth and Castlepoint. Seas rather rough south of Cape Egmont, and elsewhere moderate in New Zealand W’aters. Moderate to strong north-west wind, increasing to gale force in the eastern
Tasman Sea, with rising seas. , t , ~ . Weather cloudy and unsettled, with rain on the West Coast south of Cape Egmont; elsewhere fair to cloudy, but becoming more generally unsettled shortly with some rain in most districts.
