RAILWAY EXCURSION
— « In to-day's advertising columns appears an advertisement by the Railway Department giving particulars of a week-end excursion to Napier next Saturday. The popularity of the week-end excursions by rail is shown by the heavy patronage accorded them. Tlie fares are half the usual price. A feature in the railway arrangements is that tho excursionist is not merely conveyed to the destination and left there to look ,after himself, as the Department also arranges special motor sightseeing tours and full particulars of these are made known to all patrons on the excursion train. In addition, a list of the hotels, licensed and private, and their price list is on view at all stations on the line of the excursion, and passengers when purchasing their tickets may make application for hotel accommodation. No charge is made for this service. I
