SICKNESS BANISHED

BY FAITH IN GOD’S LOVE. Mrs. I’hoebc Holmes, last night continued her series of lectures before a large audience, in the Concert Chamber. Taking as her subject “The Dynamic Power of Controlled Thought,” she stated that all ills could be cured by the controlled thought that we were sons of God. mid as such, no harm could come to us. When this was the all-absorbing thought, diseases and ill-health just, had to go. She declared that afllietions had been cured instantaneously, and that she could quote numbers of them. Man, she said, eopld choose to flunk himself to be in Heaven, or else to be worthless. She had been privileged to come in contact with “God men,” nnd also with those in the slums, who thought themselves to be classed with the dust. Tliev had equal chances when they came into' the world. The world to-day ''’ as divided between these two sons ot God. In one. God was present, but the other would not accept Him. Mankind, through I lie power of mind, was indestructible, and could live for nil time. But man did not exercise this power, so the world was in its present condition. Mau could

choose nt any moment, regardless of how they had thought in the past, return home to their Father’s house. There was no need of their being ill, or in poverty, because when they awakened to the fact that they were sons of Heaven, these ills would depart. The mind was the 'greatest factor. Nobody could be helped unless they worked with the helper. The reason that Jesus did not heal everybody was that they did not believe, and closed I lie avenues of approach. Some, to-day, were ready to be rid ot sickness. 1 no human consciousness brought on death. It was not God’s wish that one should die.

Just the thought that they were living in God cured many people who had been given up as incurable. Through saying over and over to himself for days that God was Love, and by living in God, she could come to no harm, she, herself, had been cured of a fear of being drowned in the sea when on it. In the seme way. such sickness as rheumatism, neuritis, and heart trouble could be cured if the sufferer only accepted God in His entirety and wanted to be cured. Faith in (.oil, thus faith in one’s own possibilities could do the things that medicines and treatment could not, she concluded.
