TROTTER FATALLY INJURED ACCIDENT AT AUCKLAND.. Dominion Special Service. Auckland, November 1. Injuries received by the chestnut gelding Nihilist Junior ,while working at Epsom tills morning necessitated his destruction. With S. Selkirk in the saddle, the gelding was training witii Chrystai. After doing a round at a soil'd pace the gelding was speeded up at tlie half-mile post near the three-furlong mark. The horse wobbled, anil failing to recover landed on ills, head and crashed on to ills back. Selkirk was underneath the horse, but was not injured. After some delay a gun was secured and the gelding was put out of his misery. It is believed he broke his back. Niliilist Junior, who was owned by Mr. Bridgens, was purchased in the South only a few months back. Last'season lie won three times and was in a minor place on eight occasions, his stake winnings amounting to £568 10s.
