BRITISH INDUSTRY

HOPE FOR RELIEF FROM DEADLOCKS (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, October 26. Lord Londonderry, who has recently been appointed a member of the Government in the capacity of First Commissioner of Works, speaking at Darlington of the relations between employer and employed, referred to the objects of the National Industrial Council, and hoped they might in future be relieved from those disastrous deadlocks which had hampered their activities not only in this country, but in competition with the rest of the world. He said no doubt the Industrial Conference could produce a report which would definitely show the advantages to be gained by the scientific organisation of industry, and that they could look forward to an era of industrial prosperity and material success if the recommendations were carried out.
